My Menopause story
My Menopause Story is a space where women can reclaim their voices and share their personal experiences of perimenopause and menopause.
It’s time for our voices to be heard.
Too often, our knowledge and experience of menopause have been coloured by shame, secrecy, and outdated societal narratives.
Misinformation and cultural stigma have kept women silent for far too long.
My Menopause Story exists to break that taboo, to empower women and rewrite the way this natural transition is perceived.
There is immense power in sharing our stories.
When we speak from truth and courage, we support the women walking beside us and leave a legacy of authentic narratives for generations to come.
Every story matters, and every voice contributes to changing the conversation around menopause.
My Menopause Story celebrates the uniqueness of every woman’s journey.
We share stories from women of all walks of life to empower, educate, and inspire not only those experiencing menopause today but also the generations of women who follow.
It’s time to raise your voice. Share your story. Be heard.

Nikki's Menopause story
In my late 40s, I found myself running on empty.
Two decades of travelling, starting new careers, learning new languages, and pushing myself to the extremes (in work, life, and even exercise) had taken their toll.
During COVID, I lost jobs and accommodations twice, poured all my energy into helping others with community projects, burned out, always putting myself last.
After being away from my family for three years, I returned home only to lose my father.
This grief manifested as depression, rage, irritability, and a sense of betrayal, my body no longer felt like mine.
I couldn’t recognise myself. I lost motivation for the practices that had once connected me to the unspoken wisdom of women: my training, cooking, rituals, and self-care fell away. I felt isolated, unheard, and unsure of what was next.
At 47, I was exhausted, anxious, and disconnected from my body: heart palpitations, achy joints, low libido, and forgetfulness left me questioning who I had become.
Through this journey, I discovered the silence many women face around hormonal changes. Most are offered only medication, with little guidance or support for navigating this transition with awareness. I realised that countless women are disconnected from their bodies, their wombs, and their inner wisdom.
Before I experienced it myself, my understanding of menopause was almost nonexistent. I had only seen it through the lens of family and society, quiet, whispered experiences from my mother, aunties, and older women around me.
It was framed as something to endure, often medicalised, and rarely discussed openly.
Media and cultural narratives didn’t help either, menopause was depicted as a loss, a decline, or something to be “managed” rather than a natural transition with its own wisdom.
It wasn’t until I went through it myself that I realised how little we are taught to honour this stage of life and how powerful it can be when we reconnect with our bodies, our rhythms, and our inner knowledge.
Looking back, this “in-between” space became a gift, an invitation to deep inner work, growth, and transformation. I learned to listen to my body, focus on what truly mattered, and reconnect with my heart’s deepest desires and life purpose.
Emerging on the other side has been empowering and life-affirming. This is why I have made it my life’s work to guide women through this transition, helping them reclaim their bodies, their power, and their lives with courage, clarity, and grace.
